Perrec Petry - an obituary

Last week the Bahamian artist Perrec Petry passed away peacefully during sleep in his hometown Hopetown.

He was known for his engagement for the Sea, where all life originated – a place worth to protect. His talent to shape the local fauna into impressive and touching sculptures made him a well established artist far beyond the borders of his island.

Life, transitoriness and rebirth were the subjects to which he appealed in his works and materials. To give new sense and use to wood that nature did not need any more was his passion and brand mark which made him and his art unique.

With Perry the hopetown-team not just lost an astounding artist, with whom we celebrated a great exhibition success in Vienna, but a good and wise friend.
We will miss you
